Lyme's disease is a disease that animals may get through the bite of an infected tick. This is prevalent in the northwestern and also mid-Atlantic United States. The disease is caused by a bacteria known as Borrelia burgdorferi. Ticks pick up this disease following biting infected deer or mice.

This is all quite miserable for the cat, and highly expensive for you, so, how will you prevent Lyme’s disease in cats? The ideal prevention is to minimize their access to the outdoors. Indoor cats are much risk-free from conditions like this. Nevertheless, even indoor cats are not absolutely safe. You, or a dog, can easily carry a tick into the house, that can find its way to the cat (this happens more frequently than you would imagine!). This is particularly true in the regions of the country where ticks are common.
